On January 1st, 2004, several pieces of privacy legislation took effect for a large number of Canadian businesses. The federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) generally applies in those jurisdictions that do not have privacy legislation and also governs inter-provincial or international data transfers. These statutes govern the collection, use and disclosure of personal information by organizations in the course of commercial activities. W. A. Robinson & Associates Ltd. (WAR) and Pillar Financial Services Inc. (Pillar) treat all information in their custody with the utmost care in order to respect the confidentiality of our clients' interests. WAR and Pillar do not sell, trade, barter or exchange for consideration any personal information they have obtained. WAR and Pillar may disclose personal information to organizations that perform services on their behalf but only if they agree to use such information solely for the purposes of providing services to WAR and Pillar.
